The very first IIVVSS cohort burst into life in September 2019—twelve brave humans who saw our “very very serious” program and thought, “Sure, this seems like a normal decision.”
They trained through one of Lebanon’s most chaotic years: the October 17 uprising, the economic collapse, the COVID lockdowns, and the Beirut Port explosion. And somehow, they kept showing up—masked, exhausted, determined, and beautifully stubborn.

They learned, created, adapted, and ended their year with a street performance in Barja and a seven-minute Zoom piece (because 2020 insisted). As our pioneers—our beloved guinea pigs—they shaped the DNA of IIVVSS: resilience, artistic madness, fearless experimentation, and the belief that community work and street theatre must continue, no matter what the world throws at us.
